More than just a mascot, we believe the horse is the symbol of our camp. The horse’s self-confidence, determination, and personal power when it gallops along is echoed in our campers as they learn new skills, make new friends, and feel the exhilaration of limitless possibilities.
The pioneering spirit of our Western theme is also reflected in our values. The Old West is not just for the movies. Tales from the past tell us of the independence, self-reliance, cooperation, and resiliency demonstrated by the pioneers. Their courage guided them through first experiences, challenges, excitement, and the unexpected, as they settled the untamed frontier. That’s why we affectionately refer to our campers as “pardners,” our staff as “ranch hands,” and our campus as “The Ranch.” And when kids strut through our “barn doors,” they feel that they are in an extraordinary place.
Everyone knows the 3-R’s in school; at camp, we have our own 3-R’s: resilience, respect, and responsibility.
