Aquatics Whether they’re just learning to blow bubbles or attaining Guard Start status, Coleman Country Campers love to swim! And, they get to do it twice daily (one instructional, one free swim) in our three temperature-controlled, sparkling pools.

Swimming is truly the highlight of the camp agenda. We place huge emphasis on swimming, as it’s an especially important life skill for anyone living on Long Island. Of course, there’s lots of fun too, at the Swimmin’ Holes, with bumper boats, water slides, and a sand and water park!

More than 40 Nassau County certified lifeguards and American Red Cross Water Safety Instructors form teaching clusters according to camper ability. Instructors work with the same children until they have completed their lessons. Timid swimmers are respected; however, they are skillfully encouraged by our mature, professional swim staff. Each camper’s achievements are recorded so parents may be informed of progress.

Locker rooms with dressing areas, secured cubbies, showers, and lavatory facilities are adjacent to the pools. We also provide swimsuit and towel service in our adjoining laundry.

Hampton’s Pond is a two-foot deep natural lagoon, just perfect for learning and practicing boating skills of all kinds.
