At Coleman Country we thoughtfully blend fun, challenge, and success into our entire program. As campers mature, they gain responsibility, earn privileges, and are allowed to choose more of their activities. “Progression” is intentionally woven into everything we do in order to meet the physical, emotional, and developmental needs of each child.
Activity Counselors identify skills, based on age and competency, to be taught during each activity. These specific skills are organized and prioritized according to a supporting goal.
Every activity period, whether it’s tennis or ceramics or softball, begins with the teaching of a skill and leads into play. We recognize that every child is passionate about something: sports or arts or hobby areas. There is instruction in every arena, as well as opportunities to strive, to sample, to succeed.

Our schedule is a careful balance of structure and electives. We mix regular activity periods with club and selective periods (for older campers) and instructional and free swim. Depending on the age of the camper, we ensure a healthy combination of group-centered and camper-centered time.
